• Freeports: Several UK ports are being converted into special economic zones with custom incentives, often referred to as Free-ports.

• Trade Bodies: The British Ports Association (BPA) and the UK Major Ports Group (UKMPG) represent the industry, which employs over 100,000 people directly.
